About the Island
An Island Built for a Different Pace.
Hudayriyat Island sits a short causeway away from Abu Dhabi's downtown peninsula. Originally developed by the Abu Dhabi government as a strategic green-and-lifestyle reserve, it has emerged as the emirate's premier destination for outdoor sport, wellness, and considered residential development.
The island already hosts the world-class Surf Abu Dhabi (the largest man-made surf pool on Earth), the Hudayriyat Velodrome, the Marsana beachfront promenade and dining district, and miles of cycling and running trails. Hudayriyat Golf Estates by Modon is the island's first fully-planned residential precinct centred on golf living.
Unlike denser areas of Abu Dhabi, Hudayriyat is intentionally low-density. The masterplan prioritises green corridors, open coastline access, and walkable neighbourhoods over high-rise volume — a deliberate counterpoint to the city centre.
